NEW BERN, NC, USA – Kelly Parker has been appointed Director of Product Development at Wheatstone Corporation, effective immediately.
Previously, Kelly was Vice President of Broadcast Operations for Townsquare Media overseeing the technical operations of 349 radio stations across 74 markets. In his new role with Wheatstone, he will direct product development for the company’s AoIP, streaming, virtualization, mic and on-air processing and software server lines. “Kelly has that rare perspective that comes with first-hand experience both as a developer and user of our technology, which will be important as we enter what is expected to be a transformational period for broadcasting,” said Gary Snow, CEO for Wheatstone.
Kelly was Wheatstone’s systems engineer during the peak development years of AoIP starting in 2004 and for 14 years before joining Townsquare Media in 2019. “I’ve been on the other side of the industry running 300 plus radio stations for the past few years. Things are definitely changing and Wheatstone is uniquely positioned to adapt technology to those changes,” said Kelly, citing Wheatstone’s centralized operations under one roof as one advantage that makes it possible to quickly design and test new product developments for broadcast use now and into the future.
He joins Wheatstone’s diverse research and development team that includes enterprise/IT development engineers as well as a core group of engineers who, like Kelly, have a long history in broadcast engineering.
Kelly had a lead role in the development of Wheatstone’s WheatNet IP audio network in early 2005, introducing the first AoIP system to combine routing, control and utility mixers into one intelligent I/O unit. In subsequent years, he led the development of Wheatstone’s flagship LXE console, the first to use soft controls as a reconfigurable AoIP console surface.
Kelly is based out of Wheatstone’s factory in New Bern, NC. He can be reached at [email protected] or 252-638-7000.
