These low-profile AoIP consoles are scaled just right for newsrooms, voiceover booths, and busy on-air studios that require a solid control surface. The L Series comes in 8-, 12- and 16-channel frames and is powered by a Console Blade with mix engine and routing and logic included for a self-contained AoIP system that can run locally in a studio or as part of a facility-wide WheatNet IP audio network.
Optional Remote L Series is available for navigating, setting up and operating the L Series console from anywhere.
The L Series is part of the WheatNet IP audio network family of products, including talent stations, mic processors, virtual interface tools, server software and control panels.
L Series are versatile, tabletop IP consoles with hot-swappable individual fader modules that offer assignable sources to any fader as well as one programmable soft button, OLED status indicators, and settings recall at the touch of a button. L Series consoles come with a powerful Console Blade, which provides audio mix functions and includes I/O, making this combo an ideal AoIP starter system. WheatNet IP audio network Blades can be added at any time to extend AoIP capabilities.
Working in conjunction with the L Series consoles, Remote L Series provides complementary production functions for separate operators in the same location or in another location over an IP connection. Real-time fader tracking and live synchronization of buttons and controls between the virtual surface and the physical DMX console offer an independent, yet shared user experience for multiple operators – or as a tool for engineers to remote in to correct operator setup issues.

The IP88 Console Blade comes standard with L Series consoles for mix engine functions as well as I/O. The IP88CB includes four AES inputs, four stereo analog inputs, four AES outputs, and four stereo analog outputs on RJ45s; control room and studio stereo analog outputs on XLRs; two mic level inputs with gain trim and switchable phantom power on XLRs; cue and headphone outputs on both RJ45 and 1/4” TRS; and 12 GPI logic ports on RJ45. The console connects directly into the Ethernet switch, giving it access to mix engine functions as well as direct access to automation systems, network applications and other control surfaces that make true system interoperability possible. A single-rack IP88 Console Blade contains all the I/O needed for many studio operations, but busy studios that require additional I/O can upgrade to the IP88CB32 model for double the amount of I/O in 2RU.
The L Series has swappable modules and is easily accessible for regular maintenance. There is no “one-surface, gotta take the whole thing apart construction” here. If you need access to a channel, all it takes is two screws and you’re in.
Each fader has a dedicated mix-minus output with auto generated monaural mix-minus for routing to telephone hybrids or other devices. Each channel has a talkback that will interrupt the feed to that mix-minus.
Any channel can be assigned to one or more of the four program output busses, making your material available to an on-air feed as well as an internet stream, for instance. Moreover, any input can be called up on any channel and you can assign a backup or different source to the same channel and switch on the fly by using the SOURCE A/B buttons.
If you have a Wheatstone, Audioarts, or VoxPro product, you’re an important member of the Wheatstone family and we want to hear from you, whether you have questions or need technical support, we are here for you.
