Meet TV MIX ENGINE

All mixing functions for Arcus, Strata and Tekton 32 are done in the TVe Mix Engine, a 1RU that connects directly into an Ethernet switch for true IP connectivity into automation systems, network applications and other control surfaces that make up the WheatNet IP audio network.

With the WheatNet IP audio network approach, everything you need is on the console or touchscreen while all essential audio routing, logic and processing is done through the network.  This translates to 100% uptime and unprecedented expandability.

HIGHLIGHTS

ARCUS, STRATA AND TEKTON 32 ARE WHEATNET IP AUDIO NETWORKED CONSOLES AND INTERFACES
  • True IP Connectivity and Distributed Network: Offers a true distributed network with audio and control matrix using commercial off the shelf (COTS) Ethernet switches. WheatNet IP Blades (I/O access units) can be distributed throughout the facility as needed.
  • Sources/Destinations Anywhere: Provides hundreds of I/O signals accessible from the control surface. Signals can be assigned channel by channel, or in groups of signals created in events or salvos.
  • Logic and Audio in One: Control logic travels on the same network, and can be routed with an audio signal or separately as a logic only signal
  • Ultimate Studio Connectivity: Provides direct connectivity and integration with third-party devices such as PCs, intercoms, and routers. The major TV newsroom automation systems (Ross Overdrive, Grass Valley Ignite, Sony ELC) all support WheatNet IP audio networking.
  • Ultimate Control: Multiple control surfaces from the entire Wheatstone lineup can share the same audio network, so the PCR can have a large Arcus and smaller edit suites can have 8 channel small form factor surfaces like LXE. Ideal for radio and television combo facilities.
  • Remote Control From Anywhere: Provides for remote control from a distance using remote apps like Remote Strata.
  • Repurpose Studios By Network/Purpose: Instantly change mic feeds, IFB connections and processing settings, either on the fly or using presets.
  • 24/7/365 Reliability: Each I/O Blade in the WheatNet IP network is self-aware, and can reconfigure itself in an emergency. In fact, each Blade in the network can recover settings for your entire studio operation!

    OVERVIEW

    TVe MIX ENGINE

The TVe Mix Engine Blade for Arcus, Strata and Tekton 32 control surfaces and virtual interfaces houses all the mixing functions and provides essential distribution of the signals to the WheatNet IP audio network. Once on the network, bus signals are available as sources and destinations anywhere. This creates an extremely flexible system in which program outputs from one surface can be sources on any other surface; for example, a news mixer’s program bus can be brought up as a source on the air studio surface. The TVe mix engine includes 12 universal logic (GPIO) ports for interfacing various external switches, indicators and devices for control purposes and is AES67 compliant for full interoperability with other AES67-compatible devices and systems.
