NEW BERN, NC, USA – New this IBC show, a Linux audio driver for Wheatstone’s intelligent AoIP network.
An audio driver based on the Linux OS is now available for the WheatNet IP audio network for bi-directional audio streaming between elements and across the AoIP studio environment. WheatNet IP is a comprehensive, intelligent AoIP system made up of broadcast-quality consoles, talent stations, virtual interfaces, and I/O Blades for audio routing, mixing, processing, silence detection, and logic control in one native IP audio environment.
Linux is known for its stability as an open-source operating system without the hidden vulnerabilities often associated with Windows® OS.
“A Linux driver makes sense at this time as one more option for adding greater security and stability across the network,” said Kelly Parker, Wheatstone’s Director of Product Development.
Wheatstone’s programmable LXE console and streaming appliances are also based on Linux OS.
WheatNet IP Linux audio driver options are available for supporting up to 24 simultaneous audio streams in and out, depending on host capabilities, and 128 SLIO ports for extensive network-based logic control functions without physical cabling. Wheatstone continues to offer its Windows audio driver.
Wheatstone will be showing its full line of WheatNet IP audio networking devices and capabilities at stand 8.A56 at IBC 2025.
