COUNT YOUR AUDIO DRIVERS

Quick. How many audio drivers do you have?

We’re guessing as many as needed and not one audio driver more if you pool together all your available audio drivers in License Server and dynamically allocate them across all your studios.

Licensing audio drivers for each individual studio or computer doesn’t make sense if, say, one computer uses 13 of its 24 available audio drivers, another uses six of its eight available audio drivers, and yet another uses three of its four available audio drivers.

Pooling audio drivers together in a centralized location and distributing them when and where you need them is better, especially if you add or replace computers over time (or if someone accidentally walks away with the USB thumb drive that holds a particular set of audio drivers). You simply tap into your pool of available audio drivers to set up a driver for a temporary guest position, for example. No tech support needed.

License Server is annually renewed and can manage ScreenBuilder and other WheatNet IP audio network software licenses as well.  Imagine, for example, a 20-person newsroom that staffs only 7 to 10 people per shift. Instead of buying 20 individual ScreenBuilder licenses, you could cut that number of licenses in half. When a reporter logs in, their workstation automatically pulls an audio driver license and a ScreenBuilder mixer license from License Server. When they clock out and close ScreenBuilder, those licenses are released back into the pool for the next user. It’s seamless, flexible, and saves real money.

For remote applications especially, License Server can be a game changer.

In addition to software re-allocation, License Server can track all active licenses and monitor usage. Ask us about this and other ways to manage your studio resources. And while you’re at it, ask us about our new Linux audio drivers
