Audioarts HS-1 Headphone Station

The Audioarts HS-1 is a tiny ( 2-3/4" by 3-3/4") headphone station designed for broadcast use. It can be used as a free-standing unit or mounted underneath the counter with an optional bracket. Performance is clean, quiet and powerful, with wide dynamic range and ruler flat frequency response. The front panel has a 1/4" output phone jack, power LED and rotary level control. An internal HI/LO gain switch lets you match a wide range of input types.

Rear connectors include dual RJ45 parallel inputs and 9VDC power in, that (like the TS-1) multiplies voltage and current to provide GREAT, LOUD sound to headphones of virtually any impedance. Input cable and special 9VDC negative center pin power supply included.

HS-1 Installation Notes:

HS1 FRONT RH 3QTRUNDERCOUNTER BRACKET: This optional bracket secures the HS-1 underneath a countertop using four screws. A mounting template with dimensions and recommended hardware callout is included in the box.

TS1 Bottom CalloutsWIRING is through three rear connectors: twin parallel input RJ45s that follow standard Studio Hub analog audio pinouts (below right), and a 9VDC input jack for the provided power supply (below left). Note the center pin on the power supply is negative. The parallel inputs allow for easy diasy-chaining of a common source signal to multiple HS-1 units.

AN INTERNAL GAIN SWITCH allows you to match different input source levels. To access, remove the unit’s two front panel screws using a 1.5mm hex wrench and push the rear connectors in from the back; the circuit card will slide forward out the front. Turn the unit over to view the switch. The factory default setting is LO gain; the HI setting is for situations requiring additional gain. Be aware that excessive volume settings can permanently damage your hearing!

(see below, OUTPUT CAPABILITIES)

OUTPUT CAPABILITIES: The HS-1 amplifier can drive voltage hungry Hi-Z headphones to +20dBu. Lo-Z headphones are easily driven properly with an output current of 65mA.

Audioarts TS-1 Talent Station

The Audioarts TS-1 is a tough, compact countertop unit that utilizes a high-gain headphone amplifier that multiplies voltage and current to provide GREAT, LOUD sound to headphones of any impedance. It features 1/4” and mini stereo output jacks, two panel switches with internal LEDs, a power light and a level control. An internal HI/LO gain switch lets you match a wide range of input types.

There's a LOGIC RJ45 that lets you to use the two front panel switches for TB, COUGH and other functions. INPUT and OUTPUT connectors follow standard Studio Hub RJ45 analog audio pinouts. The OUTPUT feed allows you to daisychain the unit’s source audio to other devices. USB power supply and cable included.

Wiring is through cutouts in the bottom of the unit.

TS-1 Installation Notes:

TS1 Bottom CalloutsWIRING is through cutouts in the bottom of the unit: input, output and logic RJ45 connectors, plus USB power. A HI/LO gain set switch is located below the input connector.

TS1 Pinouts CalloutsCONNECTIONS: The USB port provides +5VDC power to the amp. The LOGIC RJ45 lets you to use the two front panel switches for TB, COUGH and other functions. INPUT and OUTPUT connectors follow standard Studio Hub RJ45 analog audio pinouts. The OUTPUT feed allows you to daisychain the unit’s source audio to other devices.

TS1 BottomTemplateCalloutsCOUNTERTOP MOUNT:  To install the TS-1 you will need to drill six holes in your countertop: four thru-holes for wire passage (5/8” diameter spade bit, shown in red) and two mounting holes (1/8” drill bit, A and B) for the 3/4” screws that will hold the unit in place.

A drilling template is included in the packing box.

TS1 OPEN SIDEPLATE v2Once the wiring is connected and everything is working properly (don’t forget to set the HI/LO gain switch) it’s time to fasten the TS-1 to the counter.

To do this you need to remove the unit’s two acrylic sideplates (each held in place by three philips head screws). You can then drive home screws through the A and B counter mounting holes in the bottom plate (sharp point 3/4 inch #8 sheetrock screws recommended).

Once anchored in place, close up the unit by replacing the sideplates.
